) LG and Dell have excellent reviews and great scores everywhere I looked and without any doubt they will be excellent choices, but at the end and despite the awful reviews this monitor has on Amazon I decided to give it a try, crossed my fingers and ordered it.It’s practically a TV.The Samsung is a great monitor, it is incredible value, and its performance is as good as any other option out there, including the much much more expensive Apple options. The USBC plug and play with my laptop works well and the display is good enough to work on and I can switch conveninently to my Playstation without much hastle.Setting this up depends a lot on what you’re hooking up to it, and as I have an Apple TV from my old TV, I have no need for the built-in apps.Bear in mind that the following takes the $320 price into account:**The M7 is big**I come from Apple monitors and products.I had my concerns but after using it for several months I’ve grown to love it.If you’re using a Mac 💻, make sure “True Tone” is off.Having ARC for audio makes using my Nintendo Switch docked so much easier than when I was just using a traditional monitor. For my needs, working on my laptop is inefficient and annoying.Probably the TV is just too advanced for me.The remote can be set to only control the monitor, but with an older tv, that solution was not available.Long answer: the advantage of this monitor over a Samsung tv is that it supports MacBook’s clamshell mode.I tested Edge, Chrome, Safari with Netflix and Prime and none of these combinations worked. But lots of little nits.I used to have a 4k TV that I used as a PC monitor and had no idea that the picture would be so much more clear on this monitor than the TV.When assembling the stand to connect to the tv, there were 3 screws missing – absolutely necessary to anchor the stand pieces .Overall I agree that the chassis and stand could be made of some better quality materials but I use a separate dual monitor arm anyway. The setup is tedious and just about impossible to get what I wanted.

5 years of using my trusty Asus MX279H as a dedicated PC / Roku / Gaming monitor, I wanted to upgrade it to a 4K monitor. Too large for home office work.I bought 5 of them. This Smart Monitor is the best option for people who wants the best of both worlds.I have been using a really outdated 43” Samsung tv that had 1080p resolution. If you live in a dorm, studio apartment, or any place where space limitations lead to you having your desk in your bedroom…..The tech handled it well but blamed the error on Apple/Mac which I don’t believe. If you’re buying this monitor, this is why.And it works great as a large monitor with speakers for connecting directly to your laptop or AirPlay. This is conceptually a good if not great monitor, with TV/chromecast/airplay/browser all included. At first it worked flawlessly, then after a bit, it started giving me a black screen or it was so dark I couldn’t see anything. If you want to use purely as monitor, only go through enough of the set up so that you can select an input, don’t bother trying to connect it to Internet or anything else like that.Quite possibly the worst remote I’ve ever seen.

Keeps loosing WIFI signal and there is no ethernet to plug in so that was an issue.Genuinely great as a TV, I use external speakers so I didn’t really care about the monitor speakers they were just a nice to have.I would highly recommend this monitor? When my Mac monitor broke, I first went and purchased the LG ultrafine monitor as a replacement.I was about to give this a 4 star rating, as I was not 100% happy with the brightness and did not see a brightness adjustment. It gets a black line down the right side occasionally.but overall excellent! I purchased this solely for my Travel Trailer. Here are the problems that make it a dumb monitor instead of a smart one:1.My kids can watch their shows on it too when I’m not doing any work.So many capabilities and picture is stellar! You wont go wrong with purchase.Only advice is to disable the ambient light sensor. It’s not a deal breaker as I love the monitor and it’s features. It also takes a while to load any menus. With the same pixel density as a 24″ at 1080, I can use 4K and read it..A friend of mine of similar age had 43″ monitor on her desk and I checked it out and ended up ordering this Samsung.
